Holy Cross Tralee has launched a new Visit Saint Carlo Shrine programme for schools, which invites teachers to schedule class groups to visit the shrine in Holy Cross Church.
Earlier this year, a beautifully crafted shrine dedicated to Saint Carlo was installed in Holy Cross. Two first-class relics of the young saint sit either side of a striking depiction of Carlo, painted by student Áine Newsome of Mercy Mounthawk Secondary School, Tralee. The shrine wonderfully blends old mahogany from disused furniture, an acknowledgement of Pope Francis' call for the protection and care of earth's resources.

Scheduled visits to the shrine include a talk about Saint Carlo, prayer and individual blessings with one of the first-class relics.
Prior Fr David McGovern OP invites all class groups to visit the shrine to venerate the relics, and to discover more about Carlo’s life and his devotion to the Blessed Eucharist.

Unscheduled visits to the shrine are also most welcome, but do not involve a scheduled talk or blessing with relic. The two first-class relics of Saint Carlo are on permanent display in Holy Cross.
