The stay coincides with the annual International Military Pilgrimage, one of the most festive occasions in the Lourdes calendar, bringing with it a vast array of colourful uniforms and bands, including those of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. Thousands of military personnel from all over the world will be in attendance. The candlelight procession and other ceremonies will be extra special with the presence of such colourful bands.
