A very special prayer space dedicated to Saint Carlo Acutis has been created at Nano Nagle School in Listowel, Co Kerry.

Nano Nagle School caters for children aged between 4 and 18 years who have been assessed to have a moderate, severe or profound general learning disability. A Catholic school, it is under the Patronage of the Bishop of Kerry, Bishop Ray Browne, and the Trusteeship of Presentation Sisters and CEIST (Catholic Education An Irish Schools’ Trust).

Shaping the space over the last few months has been the responsibility of parent Michaela Enright, in conjunction with principal Jacinta Budhlaeir and the school staff. Prayer pillows, pictures, prayer cards, toys, rosaries and a growing library of resources are bringing Jesus, Mary and Saint Carlo to the children, staff and parents.

Jacinta, principal since September 2024, was honoured this week to welcome Fr Brendan Walsh PP to bless the space with one of Holy Cross Tralee’s relics of Saint Carlo Acutis. The presence of the relic, along with the response of both the children and staff, was a beautiful and humbling occasion. The principal spoke of the importance of such a sacred space and how much it is needed.

May this sacred space bring many blessings to all who pray there.

‘You are a child of God. You are wonderfully made, dearly loved and precious in His sight’ Psalm 139
